The passing of Su Ching Huang from Saskatoon occurred on Tuesday, January 12 at Royal University Hospital. Due to current restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Monday, January 18 at Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre conducted by Pastor Wilson Kaan. Interment will follow in the Chinese section at Woodlawn Cemetery. Su Ching was born on November 15, 1942 in Toy Shan Kwong, China. She came to Canada to join her sister, Sun Cheung and brother-in-law Gin Tong Lee in 1977. She worked in a sewing factory when she first arrived in Saskatoon. She made a career in the Chinese food industry, working at the Wah Qua, Golden Wok and Asia Buffet till retirement. She enjoyed being surrounded by people. Su Ching is survived by her daughter, Sonya Jan of Saskatoon. Her brother-in-law, Gin Tong Lee and his children. Janet of Vancouver, BC, Mary and daughter Katie of Denver, CO., Bill (Kimmy) of San Jose, CA., Lillian (Frank) Ponting and their children James and Kayla of Denver, Co. Her sister-in-law, Fury Kwai Huay of San Francisco, CA. and her children Shirley ( Hai Da ma) and Kevin (Wanna Kuang) Huang. Su Ching was an avid gardener and ready to share her vegetables with all the neighbors and friends. She enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone. Su Ching was caring and compassionate, always thinking of others before herself. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
