We are all heartbroken to share that Sandra Lynn McAllan passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of November 29th, 2021. Sandra faced a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease for the last 20 years of her life that we are proud to say was fought with grace and dignity.
Sandra is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years “Al” George. Her daughters Nicole, Laura (Alun) Ash, and Kim (Morgan) Reid. Her grandchildren, her pride and joy, Mike, Kelly (Tanner), Jaeme, Nick, Callan, Ethan, and great grandson Liam. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers and sisters, Rick (Sue), Glenn (Bev), Wendy (Mike), Dawn (John), and sister-in-law Lynn (predeceased-Bud) as well as many nieces, nephews, close family, and friends. Sandra was a loving “pet mom” to many animals over the years most recently to Smokey their new kitten.
Sandra spent many years at home raising her girls and caring for many other children that came through her daycare, this was her true calling in life. Over the years Sandra was active in her communities, she loved sewing and never turned down an opportunity to play a session or two of Bingo! She and Al loved to host family gatherings preparing holiday meals together and all the holiday baking that came along with it. No one ever went away hungry from the McAllan house.
Sandra was a huge support to Al, and her girls and later in life her grandchildren. She was always there to offer advice and a helping hand. Even while struggling with her health, she loved with all her heart and will truly be missed by all lucky enough to have known her.
As per Sandra’s wishes, a private family graveside memorial will take place at a later date. We ask that in lieu of flowers please consider donating to Parkinson’s Canada (316-4211 Yonge Street Toronto, ON M2P 2A9), a foundation near and dear to our hearts. Arrangements in care of Chelsea Krentz – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200
