Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife Betty of 52 years, his son Scott (Dallas), daughter Lori (Aaron), and grandchildren Cole, Hadley, Easton and Tyson; brothers and sisters-in-law Randy and Eileen Markewich (Jeff and Shelley), Sandra and Murray Alston (Cara and Larissa), Richard and Judy Taylor (Noel). Many other relatives and wonderful friends that he has made over the years. Bob was an only child and predeceased by his mother and father, Peter and Rita Revenko, his mother and father-in-law Austin and Ivy Taylor.
Born in Lethbridge in 1943 where he went to both elementary and high school. He went to work for BC Tree Fruits in Regina, SK where he also met Betty in 1969. They were married in 1971, Scott was born in Regina and they moved to Winnipeg for his work and then Lori was born in Winnipeg. They came back to Saskatchewan and made Saskatoon their forever home.
Bob was a family man, dedicated to his community and youth sport. His love of sports was evident in all of Scott and Lori’s hockey or ringette teams he coached all winter and their softball teams all summer. He coached or managed many teams over the years and if he wasn’t coaching you’d definitely find him on the volunteer list. Making sure the season was successful. Their athletics took them across the country representing Saskatoon and Saskatchewan at a national level which is something he was incredibly proud of. He was the biggest supporter of his grandkids and when he was able to travel to watch them play, he would be proudly standing rink side or on the first base line. He wore their team hats and hoodies, bought all of the raffle tickets and often treated them to a fancy stick or piece of equipment at the beginning of a new season. He even tackled learning how to watch online and watched them play from a distance.
His commitment to community has continued over the years, he served as the president of the Westview Community Association for a number of years passed and for 20 years an active volunteer and supporter of the Saskatoon Quakers Junior B Hockey Club. Back in the day he enjoyed playing old timers hockey with the Arthritic Angels and made a few lifelong friends. His regular meet ups with the coffee crews was also something that Bob really looked forward to. In his younger years he enjoyed golf, hockey and puttering around the yard and always had the cleanest truck on the block.
Bob always said he wanted to reach his 80th birthday and we celebrated that milestone with him this past summer with family and close friends. It was a wonderful day that we are all grateful to have celebrated with him.
