It is with great sadness we announce the death of Rita Mary Dolan on April 1, 2016. Rita was born and raised in Ponteix, SK and the family farm always held a special place in her heart. A natural caregiver, she chose Nursing as her vocation and graduated from the Regina Grey Nuns Hospital. She nursed in Regina, the U.S.A. and completed her nursing career at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Her love of literature led her to a midlife career change. She became a Library Technician for the Saskatoon Board of Education and retired there in 1987. She was a gentle, quietly graceful woman with a huge heart and a curious mind. Her faith was incredibly important to her and she lived her life accordingly. Auntie Rita had many interests but children played the largest part in her life. In her words "Children are God's Blessing". She never missed a soccer game, track meet, a band concert. She kept us all connected through the thousands of letters she wrote. She volunteered for many organizations and Save the Children was her favourite. Her back yard and garden gave her great joy. She was predeceased by her sisters Margaret and Teresa and brothers Frank, Emmett and Jack. She is survived by her sister RoseMary and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nephews. She will never be forgotten for the large role she played in our lives and will always remain in our hearts. We loved her dearly. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church (1235 - 12 St. E. Saskatoon.) Arrangements in care of Lisa Ruf - Mourning Glory Funeral Services.
