Raymond, fondly known as Ray, was born on May 2nd, 1931 in Marcelin, Saskatchewan to Henri and Anna (Brousseau) Desjardins. He was the eldest of two sons and completed his education to grade 13 in the town of Marcelin. He then went on to follow in his dad's footsteps and worked alongside him in the service station known as "Desjardins & Sons". He was a well-known business man and mechanic in the area. The service station was a three generation business, lastly owned by his son, Richard. Ray was very involved in his church community and was a proud and active member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 plus years. Ray lived a life of sobriety with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous since 1976, an achievement that he and his family were very proud of. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Ray was predeceased by his father Henri, mother Anna, brother Fr. Omer, son Richard, and grandson Tyson Desjardins. He is survived by Gisele, his loving wife of 68 years, son Claude (Faye) children - Mitchell, Meagan (Cyrille), Danielle(Brian), daughter Jocelyne (Rob) Sutherland - children, Trevor, Todd (Laura), Joel (Jimena), daughter-in-law Brenda Desjardins children - Benett (Meghan), Shawn (Jalisa), son Marc (Wanda) children - Justin (Nicole), Ryan (Jessica), daughter Annette (Mark) Stevens - children Amanda (Curtis), Jennifer (Cody), Crystal (Sheldon) and son Alain (Donna Kosteriva, her 4 children and 8 grandchildren).
