Catherine passed away suddenly at home in the early morning of February 4, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband Cecil, two sons Kenneth and Michael, parents Edward and Mary McMahon, sister Anna McMahon, brother John McMahon, and brothers-in-law Lloyd McDonald, Harvey McDonald, Howard McCracken and Dick Wunderlich. Catherine is survived by her daughters Beth, Linda, Colleen and Moureen and her sons Lyle (Amy) and Ed, four grandchildren Leigh (Laura) McDonald, Raya (Clae) Hack, Sean (Amy) McDonald, Shyann McDonald, three great-grandchildren Luke McDonald, Hailey Hack, and Rylie Hack, sisters-in-law Donna McMahon, Mabel McCracken, Joyce McDonald, Gladys Wunderlich, brother-in-law Mervyn (Chris) McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was born in Saskatoon, and later moved to the Tyner area with her parents. She took her last two years of high school at the Convent in Rosetown, SK. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon and taught at Saltburn School and in North Battleford. In 1953 she married Cecil McDonald and they farmed and raised their family in the Sanctuary/Lacadena area. In 1967 they moved to Elrose, SK where she worked at the Elrose Wheatland Regional Library for many years. In 2002 she moved to Saskatoon where she spent her retirement years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at St. Philip Neri Roman Catholic Church (1902 Munroe Ave. S.) in Saskatoon. The Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at St. Basil’s Cemetery, Plato, SK. Memorial donations may be directed to the Friendship Inn or a charity of your choice.
