October 25, 1941 - October 2, 2024
Lorne William Warren died peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on October 2, 2024, just shy of his 83rd birthday. Lorne was born on October 25, 1941 in Landis, SK, and was the only child of Osborne and Minnie Warren. His childhood/teen years were spent in Landis SK, Lougheed, AB, and Carmel SK, and as an adult, Lorne made his home in Saskatoon. In 1963, Lorne married Madeline, his best friend and the love of his life for more than 61 years. Together, they built a home and a family, of which he was very proud.
Lorne worked part-time for OK Economy in grade 12 and continued full-time after high school to become an Assistant Manager at the store on 4th Avenue, and a full Manager not long thereafter. After winning a Dale Carnegie Sales award, Lorne was launched into the world of sales and became a highly successful salesman, utilizing his skills at companies such as Searle, Ortho Pharmaceuticals, National Drug, and Chemical International. Through his life, Lorne was a die-hard Saskatchewan Roughriders fan, a fisherman, a hunter, a fan of country music, and someone who loved a fire on the beach late at night at the cabin Shell Lake. Above all, Lorne was a very even tempered, patient, and steadfast father and husband who loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with each and every one.
Lorne is survived by his loving wife Madeline, his son Tim, his daughter Lynn (Dave), his grandsons Kaleb and Steel, and his grand-daughters Breanna, Cameron, and Kiera Stewart. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
There will not be a memorial service at this time. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to a charity focused on Alzheimer’s and/or dementia research or the Salvation Army.
