Leo was a farmer, avid reader & writer, life long learner, singer and activist. He was politically involved and supportive of social justice groups. He was predeceased by Helen, his wife of 72 years, and is survived by six children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Leo and Helen farmed together for over sixty years. He did his last harvest at age eighty-three. Leo developed many lifelong friendships. He had a wonderful sense of humor, never-ending patience, an appreciation of nature and a great love of life. Over the years, he was an active member of the National Farmers Union and later in life he was deeply involved with Development and Peace. He believed in spreading the word that we all needed to be a part of a bigger community and respect one another. Leo met challenges with grace and dignity. He was loved and will be missed.
The family extends their thanks to Luther Riverside Terrace Intermediate Care and Royal University Hospital.
