The family of Larry Langeman sadly announce his sudden passing on September 6 at the age of 69 at his home in Saskatoon, SK. Larry was born in Swift Current and was predeceased by his parents Art Langeman and Elsie Furneaux and step-sister Ronalda Morris. He is survived by his loving wife Holly Langeman (Klassen), his children Ryan Langeman and Jessica (Claude) Forest and the mother of his children Linda Langeman (Beutler) as well as his brother Reg (Maxine Scott) Langeman, step-father Ronald Furneaux, step-sister Linda (Tim Sass) Furneaux and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry was raised in Swift Current where he attended primary school and later moved to Regina, graduating from Campbell Collegiate in 1971. He pursued a career in commerce, achieving his Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and certificate in Business Administration. With his family, he relocated to various communities across southern Saskatchewan with his position as CIBC Branch Manager and retiring from Canada Revenue Agency after 27 years of service.
He loved the City of Saskatoon, where he made it his home since 1987. Larry was a dedicated father to his children Ryan and Jessica and enjoyed spending time in their early years camping, attending Ryan’s football games, stock car races and attending family get-togethers. As adult children, he welcomed them and their spouses to his home, cooking lavish meals often showing a sweet and doting side that will be gravely missed.
In 1992, he married Holly and together they shared a love of vacationing, theatre and jazz music. They developed a hobby for stained glass where their home windows were filled with their artwork. After a tragic health incident in 2003, Holly was unable to take care of herself. Larry accepted his responsibilities as a caregiver to Holly for two decades. His dedication to her care was extremely admirable for all that knew him. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Parkridge Centre for the years of support for both Larry and Holly.
Larry preferred to have Holly home with him as much as possible and continued to share companionship. He enjoyed the company of Holly’s family, parents Bill (deceased) and Irene Klassen, sister Cheryl and Mac Hart of Medicine Hat and sister Jennifer and Darren Crotenko.
Larry was devoted to his religion as a Jehovah Witness and the congregation was an integral part in supporting him after Holly fell ill. The family would also like to extend gratitude to everyone who cared for him and Holly.
