John Charles Perkins

Loving father of Karen Olson (Neil Webb), Anne (Karey)Quiring, and Sherry (Bill) Brand. Grandfather to Ryan, Adam, Steven, Lance, David, Billy and Vicky. Great grandfather to Cooper, Veronica, Addy, Anara, Oliver, Lucas, and Jacob.

He will be missed by his brothers Will and Edmund and extended families.

Dad was predeceased by his wife Bert of 55 years, twin grandsons William and Jonathan (1995) and many family members which include parents Harold and Ella and his sister Emily.

Once diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma dad moved into the Hospice at Glengarda. While there family and friends came to visit, time was spent playing cards and dice until he was no longer able to.

Dad has always loved curling, going fishing, and hunting. With having 3 daughters he still taught us everything he would have done with boys. We helped with any kind of repairs to his vehicles; this included changing the oil or even the alternator. We would never be stranded on the side of the road with a flat tire as that was one lesson we were taught when getting our driver's license. We enjoyed many fishing trips, and the fish fry's, and camping trips that we took together.

While at the Hospice I asked dad what was his favorite time of year he said "Christmas". I think because he enjoyed having his family around seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren was important to him.

The last big event we had with dad and close family and friends was celebrating his 80th birthday. He talked about it all the time to the staff at Columbia Manor. He was a quiet man not too much to say so when he talked everyone listened.

Dad was loved and will be missed by all.
