It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dear and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Dad was happily welcomed into heaven on May 19, 2024 by his loving wife Katie (deceased June 7, 2017) and granddaughter Silken Bjorndal (deceased March 29, 2023).
Dad leaves behind his daughters Connie (David) Pokoyoway, Sabra Bohnke, and Kelly (Brian) Bjorndal, his grandchildren Catherine Pokoyoway (Josh Miller), Ashley Pokoyoway (Steven Meszaros) and their children Teaghan and Dominic, Elisha (Ryan) Tyerman, and Jonathan (Candice) Pokoyoway and their children Katie and Zoey, and his brother Robert Bohnke and his family.
Dad was a Police Officer with the Saskatoon City Police Service for 30 years (retired 1995). During his career he touched many lives.
He will be remembered for his charitable works, in particular his 50 years of service with the Knights of Columbus.
His immense kindness and generosity and deep love of family and friends will endure.
Dad will now be cheering for the Roughriders alongside other heavenly fans, with a glass of homemade chokecherry wine in hand!
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Dad’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Hospice at Glengarda through St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
