It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden death of Gordon Andrew Grant. He was born in Regina on February 15th, 1957 to Darlene and George Grant. Gordon passed away in his home, in Saskatoon, on Tuesday, June 13th, 2023.
Our beloved, funny, artistic, creative, and unique Gordon will be deeply missed by Gaye-Lynn, his wife of 30 years, his daughter, Margaret-Anne, and his little cat, Charlie. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Laurie (Rick), Gary (Darlene), Glenn (Leona), Geoff, Brothers-in Law; Ray (Kathy), Blair (Bharb), Aunts; Myrna, Judy (Ian), Uncle; Larry (Sandra), Best Friend; Chris, and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Gordon was a Visual Merchandiser for 20 years, which resulted in many exciting and dramatic window displays at Eatons, Holt-Renfrew, and The Bay. If you attended local theatre, you will remember Gordon’s artistic talents as a set and poster designer for over 70 productions, in Saskatoon, Red Deer and Lethbridge. His murals are in many homes and churches.
He met Gaye-Lynn on stage and, with Margaret-Anne, their life was often described as “One Big Musical”.
Gordon was not only an avid reader and book collector, he also wrote 27 Dinner Theatre Murder Mystery Productions. He was renowned for his puns; the cheesier the better and he had a sense for a joke that would make others laugh. Hallowe’en was the time of year that his talents for making costumes (which were highly sought after), took centre stage.
His favourite singers were Harry Nilsson, Alice Cooper, and his daughter, Margaret-Anne. Gordon would sing to Gaye-Lynn as they danced in his curated, colourful, eclectic basement family room. He was a loyal friend who was generous with his time and talents to all who needed them.
We are grateful for the compassion given to us at this time by all those who have helped us in this tragic time.
Gordon was cremated on Friday, June 15th and his Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20th, 2023 at Acadia Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon). For those unable to attend please visit www.faithproductions.ca/livestream to view the service. Arrangements entrusted to Bry Levesque.
