It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Yu Kwok Cheong (Geoffery) on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Royal University Hospital at the age of 84. Geoffery was born on November 12, 1931 in Hoi-Ping, Canton, China. Geoffery is survived by his wife Su Ping (Tam); 5 children, Po Ling (Wei Hung) Yu, Raymond (Connie) Yu, Simon (Song) Yu, Jason (Ming) Yu and Allison (Bill) Hu; 11 grandchildren, Roland and Carol Yu, Shanon, Shelly and Randy Yu; Kevin, Devon and Tina Yu, Ben, Bowen and Kelly Hu; great-granddaughter Annebella Ng. Geoffery was predeceased by his parents Yu Wing Hing and Wong Kwan Hoi. Geoffery immigrated to Saskatoon, SK, Canada in 1974. He worked at Lorne Ave. Chop Suey as a chef, Lorne Ave. Shop Rite as a butcher, and at the Exhibition Greenhouse as a gardener. In 1986, he moved to Nipawin, SK and operated a family restaurant. After 10 years of success, he retired in 1996 and moved back to Saskatoon to spend time with his grandchildren. His family will always treasure the fond memories at family gatherings and he will be dearly missed.
