The family of Anne is very saddened to announce her passing. Anne is survived by her children Sarah (Scott) and James (Lina) Fraser, her sister Jean McKenna (David Wilmshurst) and brother Robert McKenna, and several members of her extended family. She was predeceased by her father Robert Joseph and mother Edna Anita (Labonte) McKenna. Anne was born in Sherbrooke, QC. She attended high school at John Rennie in Point Claire, QC. Anne went on to attend the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in Montreal, QC. She worked for 3 years as a nurse in California and Newfoundland before attending medical school at Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at Izaac Walton Killam Hospital in Halifax. Anne moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1979 and joined the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan after a brief private practice. She retired from the University in 2009. This was followed by private practice again until she retired in 2011. She had a very distinguished career as a physician, teacher, and child advocate. She was honored with the Saskatoon Police Service Badge Award in 2009 for her long standing service for the welfare of abused children. Anne loved reading, travel, skiing, swimming, golfing, bridge, miniatures, cats, archaeology, classical music, and art history. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Center or the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital. Special thanks to her entire care team of physicians throughout Saskatoon, as well as the incredible nursing staff at RUH. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 15th, 2023 at Windsor Chapel (704 Windsor Street, Saskatoon, SK). Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
