Born in Kamsack, David graduated high school and then continued his education at the University of Saskatchewan. Throughout his life and career, he lived in a number of communities making friends along the way until he settled in Saskatoon.
David was an active person, joining Sing Out Saskatoon, as an active camper he joined the Saskatchewan Camps Assoc. Board of Directors in 1974 and served until April 2021. He was a member of the Royal Life Saving Society, a member of the Sask. Assoc. of Recreational Professionals and had been employed with the City of Saskatoon for over 32 years. David’s “greatest job in the world” was as Camp Administrator and Waterfront Director for a number of years at John Bosco Wilderness Camps. Our dear David made an impact on the life of many people through his years of volunteerism.
A man known for his smile, wit and his love of telling stories, David will be missed by his brother George (Maureen) Godwin of Victoria BC, sisters Carol Kilpatrick and Donna Godwin both from Regina, step sisters Maureen (Tom) Hvidston , and Peggy (Rick) Bell from Saskatoon, numerous nephews and nieces and a ton of great friends.
Family members wish to extend their gratitude to David's close friends who supported David in this time of need.
