It is with great disbelief and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved “papa” Dale Ens. Dale left us on the 28th of December with Deb and their boys by his side, after a short battle with a blood clot in his aorta.
Dale was born in Nipawin, SK and grew up in Gronlid, SK on the family farm. Dale married Deb in Milden, SK on the 2nd of September in 1978, from there they finally settled in Saskatoon, SK where their children, Dana and Dustin were born and lovingly raised.
In Dale’s younger years he succeeded as a salesman for a few companies including: Renn sales, and Norwest sales. Later on he started the journey endeavouring on self-employment, owning his own company. This took him on many adventures of all kinds of different renovations; one might call him a jack of all trades.
With his downtime Dale enjoyed playing darts, billiards, fishing, hunting, and just generally enjoying the company of family whether it be at home or at the cabin. Snowmobiling and ice fishing was the best part of snowy weather for him and his boys, plenty of hours were had bundling up, going fast, and warming up at the shacks along the way. Music was also a big love of Dales. Deb and Dale recently celebrated their 45th anniversary at an Eagles tribute band together.
Among many other pets throughout the years, there’s one that stands out most and that’s the family dog Shadow, entering their lives when the boys were young. Shadow treated Dale like the alpha patriarch. She provided endless entertainment and many fond memories, coming on camping trips, boat rides, and snowmobile rides.
Being a grandpa gave Dale a new lease on life, His grandson Logan gave him infinite joy, and he called him his sunshine. We will assure Logan knows how much his grandpa loved him, and hope he carries on the legacy of Dale’s loud, enthusiastic energy for years to come.
Dale is predeceased by his parents; Isaac and Helen, his brothers; Larry and Russ, and his father is law Ken Kleven.
Survived by his wife, Deb; his children, Dana (Lindsay Pitka), Dustin (Kristi), and his grandson Logan; his brother Gordon (Cheryl); his mother-in-law, Marie Kleven (Bill Willis); and his brother-in-law Wes Kleven (Tanya Pollock), as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
We miss you Dale
