Anne Marie Worth

The family wishes to announce the passing of Anne Marie Worth on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015.  She was born on May 21st, 1930 and most recently resided at Stensrud Lodge.  Anne is survived by her children Carol (Grant), Robert (Leslie), Trinity (Wayne), Sharon (Paul), Darcy (Liz); her grandchildren Chelsea, Danny (Melissa), Craig (Reagan), Mason (Serenity), Samara, Brandon (Jessica), Michael (Laura), Blaze (Terry); great-grandchildren Morgan, McKenna, Christopher, Carter, Jacey, Siya, Wylder, Mary, Layla, Aria. Nana was surrogate gramma to Amanda, Justin and Jade. She was predeceased by her son Curtis and several of her siblings.  Mom grew up on a farm near Cosine, SK, the 4th oldest of 13 children. Living on the farm fostered a respect for the land, hard work and kindness for all animals. Mom was a single parent devoted to her six children. As a young child she wanted to be a teacher but the responsibilities of the farm ended her education at Grade 6. She did become a teacher, our teacher.  She taught us love through her never ending sacrifices; her endless patience through the little hiccups and the challenges of life.  Her hands were never used for discipline, only to calm and to sooth little tears. Nana loved all children and was always willing to guide, to hug and to educate.  She loved being a gramma and was eager to provide Nana Daycare for her many grandchildren. Nana never called in sick, never lost her patience, never got upset or frustrated over small spills and little outbursts. Mom, Nana, Gramma, will always be remembered for sharing the most when she had the least. She will be missed for her warm hugs, her open heart and huge smile that would grab you and squeeze you like a bear hug!  Thanks for the wonderful life you provided for us and for the wonderful memories that we will hold in our hearts forever.  We’ll love you forever.  We’ll love you for always. A Celebration of Anne's Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 7th at Stensrud Lodge Chapel - main floor (2202 McEown Ave in Saskatoon). Thank you to the caring staff at Stensrud Lodge, St. Paul’s Hospital (Emergency, 5th and 7th Floor Medicine, Palliative Care) and to Doctors Zawadowski, Kundapur, Rattan and Gimon. In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Children’s Hospital Foundation (#1-345 - 3rd Ave South, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1M6) so someone’s most precious child can be taken care of in their time of need.
