Walter Michael Scott

Walter Michael Scott, age 63, passed away on January 14, 2024, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota, FL after a courageous battle with cancer. Walter "Mike" was born in Holyoke, MA on October 19, 1960, the youngest child of Walter and Ruth (Yanak) Scott.

He served in the United States Army for 5-1/2 years as a member of the Military Police where he received his GED. He worked for the past 23 years in maintenance and landscaping at the Laurel Oak Country Club in Sarasota.

He is survived by his brother, Barry S. Scott and his wife, Jacqueline; a sister, Rona McKay and her husband Dennis; and a special niece, Catherine Couet, all of Nokomis, FL.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Ann Velasquez and Alison Burt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Gulf Pines Memorial Park Chapel, 2401 Englewood Road, Englewood, FL.
