Bob was formerly from Toledo, OH and Timonium, MD. He attended Bowling Green State University, and then served in the U.S. Army European Theater 1951-1953. After discharge, he married Virginia Meek, deceased in 1978. They had two daughters, Lorraine Primrose of Issaquah, WA and Penelope Long of Sarasota. Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy of 30 years and his extended family of four stepchildren, Diane Daniels, Steven, Jack and Kenneth Leonard as well as 13 grandchildren. After 38 years with The Quaker Oats Co, he retired as Eastern Regional Sales Manager. He was also a member of the Toledo Masons. Bob and Peggy moved to University Park Country Club in Sarasota, FL where they enjoyed 20 years of golf and forming lifelong friends. Bob's fun loving personality and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He was a member of Church of the Palms for 19 years. He especially enjoyed the music and children's performances. He also volunteered in the after school tutoring program there.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Church of the Palms on Tuesday, January 31 at 2 pm with a reception to follow. There will also be a service in Sunnyside Chapel on Monday, January 30 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
