Hawes, Mildred Elizabeth, 88, of Ellenton, Fla., formerly of Eastport, New York, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2015 with her family at her bedside. She was born on November 30, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Samuel and Orpah McCullough Lawder. Mildred was a member of the Palma Sola Community Church in Bradenton where she was the organist for many years. She loved to sing and was a member of the Sweet Adelines . She played the piano at the World's Fair in 1964. She enjoyed playing for the Moriches Chorale Society. Her favorite piece was Handel's Messiah. Other interests were needlepoint, crafts and playing Mahjong with her friends. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Broek (Dick), Jacquie Paskiewicz (Steve), and Joanne Lindsay; 6 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Mildred knew she was a special lady. She will be missed by all. Online condolences may be shared at www.palmsmemorial.com.
