She received 3 Masters Degrees from George Washington University and University of Paris. Marie-Claire was a diplomatic liaison at the InterContinental hotel in Bangkok. She also had an illustrious career as a real estate broker in Northern Virginia. Everyone who knew Marie-Claire adored her and she was loved by so many. Her charisma, loving personality, and sense of style were second to none. She was an amazing army wife and a fabulous event host for many years as the post commander’s wife in Seoul, Korea.
She was a tremendous, supportive mother. She is survived by her daughter, Kiki Bowers, and son in law Trent Bowers, as well as her loving brother, Bernard Girod, and nephew Marc Girod.
Marie-Claire was the epitome of grace. She will now be reunited with the love of her life Col. Bill Steinberg as they watch over all their loved ones on earth.
A funeral service will be held at her church, First United Methodist Church
in downtown Sarasota, 104 S. Pineapple Ave., 34236 on Thursday June 30, 2022 at 11:30 AM, followed by a burial to be laid at eternal rest with her husband at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd. 72, Sarasota, 34241 at 2:00 PM.
