She was born to the late Walter and Bertha Zaremba, in 1935, in North Plainfield, New Jersey. Joan graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1953. She was a loving wife and homemaker.
She was married to the love of her life the late Frank Sheriff in 1956, and they resided in Florida until their passing. They had a daughter, Bonnie Lynn of Florida, who passed in 2008 who is survived by her husband Allan. Joan is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy Lovell, Joanne Haley, and Jackie Harris, all of Florida, along with their spouses Dennis, Tom, and Dean. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Janice, Daniel, Tammie, Joseph, Diana, Amy, Karissa, Cameron, and six great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Brielle, Kevin, Elijah, Dustin, and John.
Joan was a loving woman who found beauty in all of God’s creations. She loved flowers and gardening being a part of the Coconut Creek Gardening Club. She loved doing things like ceramics, playing bingo, hosting parties, and attending parties!
She loved to sew for her family and passed her talents along to her children. She loved to travel and hang out with family and friends. She was a fantastic cook passing down wonderful family recipes to anyone who would ask. You never left Joan’s table hungry because she made sure you had seconds and if up to her, you would have thirds!
A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home Wiegand Chapel, 7454 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34231. Services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery located at 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, 34241. The cemetery has request that everyone arrive by 11:00 a.m. for line up to go to the 11:30 a.m.
