Gregory Ralph Rudeen, age 77, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021. He was born January 8, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Gregory was adopted by the late Ralph and Adeline (Carlson) Rudeen.
Gregory grew up in Rockford, Illinois where he graduated from East High School in 1964. During High School he worked at Sherman’s Clothing Store. He then served his time in the U.S. Army. Gregory went back to his passion of selling men’s clothing at Stucky’s. In 1977-1991 he was the owner of Knights Armor Men’s Clothing Store. During this time Gregory also pursued his passion for real estate, he was a real estate developer building many apartment buildings, condos, and residential properties. In 1991 he retired from Knight’s Armor, but continued to develop properties as Rudeen & Associates. Gregory was a member at Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois. He loved fishing, golfing, boating, and being with his family. Greg and Terry enjoyed a full life of travel throughout the years. His greatest joy was being with family and friends. He was loved by so many.
He is survived by his beloved life partner, Terry Mayborne; loving children, Brad Rudeen and Michelle Greenawalt (Bradley), both of Sarasota; step-daughters, Kimberley Spehar (Michael) of Rockford, Illinois and Jennifer Mayborne (Gordy Nygren) of Rockton, Illinois; cherished grandchildren, Jacob and Branson Rudeen, Henry Greenawalt, Marie Helser (Jason), Joseph Spehar, Maggie Spehar, Mya Edwards (Nick) and John L. Sutkay III and great grandchildren Jaxon, Myles, Ryder and Kaisley. Gregory is preceded in death by his first wife, mother of his children, Janice Lou Johnston.
Services will be private.
