Frederick K. Yoder, 71, of Parrish Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, April 29, 2023, after a 6 year battle with cancer. He was born on June 28, 1951 at Three Rivers, Michigan, to Mahlon and Mary (Yoder) of Sturgis Michigan.
He married Rebecca A. Hochstetler (daughter of Harvey and Elizabeth Hochstetler) of Nappanee, Indiana on June 28, 1975, at Bethel Mennonite Church), Nappanee IN.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by one daughter, Wanda E. Yoder, Parrish FL; sons, Kenton E Yoder, (Sherri) Mt. Juliet, TN., Linfred S. Yoder (Marilyn) Sarasota FL; brothers, Kenneth of Sarasota FL., Alvin, Sarasota FL, Marvin, Dade City, FL, David, Goshen, IN., Doug, Nappanee IN; sisters, Martha Coblentz, Middlebury, IN., Laura Mae Hochstetler ( Fred’s twin), Middlebury, IN; grandchildren, Abigail, Keira, Kaden, Elana, Cohen, Kai, Aliyah, and Katelyn.
Fred was a great encourager to many, and had an enthusiasm for life. He was a great salesman and won awards for his success in sales. He loved fishing, and woodworking, making many unique projects for his wife. He had a heart for missions and served at Fair Play Boys Camp, SC. and Deeper Life Ministries, Plain City, OH. He served as co-pastor, with Henry Detwiler of the Hope Fellowship Church, Sarasota FL.
He was preceded in death by son Trent L. Yoder, Oct. 30, 2022, grandson Brady Pierce, Dec 31, 2009, and parents Mahlon and Mary Yoder, step mother Anna (Borntrager) Yoder. Brothers, Vernon and Norman.
A visitation will be held at the Hope Fellowship Church, 8500 Fruitville Rd. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Hope Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery.
