Ernest Joseph Carrara Jr.

Ernest was born on April 29, 1940 in New York City. As a child he loved playing baseball with his friends and sister. He graduated from Baruch College with a degree in Business in 1961. He enlisted in the Army in 1961 and was proud to serve his country. He worked in the retail industry for several decades. During that time, he made a lasting impression on all of the employees and customers that he worked with. He later worked at Kissena Park Golf Course, a job which he adored and where he met many new friends. He loved playing and laughing with his grandchildren, playing golf with friends and family, watching the Yankees and Giants and spending time with his wife. His humble nature and sense of humor were loved by all. Ernest will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, son E.J. and wife Linda, son Steven and wife Laurie, daughter Susan and husband Jeffrey, ten beautiful grandchildren, one adorable great grandson and sister Barbara and husband Ray.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Frances Carrara and brother Robert.

Visitation will be held Monday on August 17, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, FL. With a Funeral Service will be held on August 18, 2020 at 9:00 am, Military Honors will be held on August 18, 2020 at 11:00 am at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL.
