Ernest Joseph Allard Jr., 83, of Sarasota died Oct. 5, 2011.
He served in the Navy during WWII. After discharge, Ernest attended Massachusetts Institution of Technology graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He spent his career working for United Oil Products. After retirement, he moved to Sarasota where he enjoyed golf and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Joseph, Sr. and Alma Allard; and his first wife, Irene (Lavigne) Allard.
He is survived by wife, Marion (Buchanan) Allard; sister, Janet Scholzen; 3 stepchildren and their families; and a niece and nephew and their families.
Funeral service at 11 AM, Friday October 14, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 3930 17th St. NW, Sarasota (941-955-3934). Memorials preferred to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd Sarasota, FL 34238.
