I am sending condolences on behalf of Arbon Equipment, Tampa Team to Doug's family, friends and co-workers.  Doug always expected excellence from his vendors and his zeal for keeping a well-oiled machine running at the Bradenton site was obvious.  We enjoyed working for Doug  as he never had a bad day (never showed it to us if he did).    So sorry to hear about his passing.  Goodbye Doug, we will all miss you.

Leafing through on Facebook came across Doug's profile noticed he hadn't posted in a while... never would have imagined a old Frito Lay friend passed days before I was going to reach out and say hey!  Well Doug fly high just wanted to say hi,instead I'm saying goodbye!

So shocked and sad to hear of your tragic passing at such a young age. I will always remember the great summer adventures that we spent together in Michigan. You lived your live passionately and with heartfelt joy, love and kindness. You were truly one of a kind. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Carlos and I were so blessed to have known you.  You possessed the gift of making everyone you ever came in contact with feel special.  All of my memories of you are filled with smiles and laughter.  You will be missed by all!  Until we meet again, love you buddy!

Oh my dear dear friend, I miss you terribly already.  You've been in my my life since we were 11 year's old.   We became a part of each other's families.

I will always cherish all the memories and adventures we shared. I will always think of you and love you my dear friend.❤️😢

Sadness from New Orleans, SW Fl, Greece, Michigan and countless other places Doug Sims made his presence is being felt.  Those who met him for the first time were strangers only for that short moment.  If you had a need Doug had  a solution, need help Doug had a helping hand, need to laugh Doug had a funny story, he was a man of many talents but he was most talented at making people feel wanted and needed in this imperfect world.  We will never understand why some of our most loved people are taken too soon from us but we know that Doug was needed somewhere else at this time.  I will shed tears for his loss but I will celebrate his life as he would if the roles were reversed.  I will remember the instance smile and feeling I got when Doug entered into my presence. I will use our friendship to continue to guide me when I meet a stranger in need.  Your stories will continued to be told by all your many friends as they continued to traverse this present kingdom we exist in.  Love you my MAN!!!

So sorry for the Dims family, my sympathies.  I remember first meeting Doug in 1992 when visiting Florida, we like him right off, he was a great person, died too young.

I was blessed to have spent the last 8 years of our lives together, you were the best husband, my best friend, the best brother, son, father, the best human being that many of us have known. I will always remember you as the happy, smiling and wonderful person you were. I love you with all my heart. 

Thank you Uncle Doug for all of our families amazing memories with you in Florida and Michigan. I will miss your laugh, smile, and stories.

The world lost one of it's brightest stars. Dougie, THE Captain, is sorely missed. He brightened every room and made all of our adventures more interesting. His legacy and memory will live on in our hearts forever. ❤️

Doug was the Best Friend and Brother-in-Law anyone could ever have. He was Loved by All. My Heart is sad. 

Doug, you shined everyday. You weren't just a co-worker, you were a friend that we lost to soon. You will always be remember. 

Doug naturally made everyone around him happy and at ease. He is the type of friend you meet and try your hardest to never let go of. We will miss him immensely. 

Forever in our hearts .  Doug was always there when you needed him, and always lit up every room he stepped foot in.

Our deepest sympathies in the loss of Doug.  He was a great friend and I’ll miss him greatly.    He loved his family, his friends, and life.  Doug was one of those “bigger than life” characters that you encounter a few times in your life who make you smile when you remember the stories and the “next big thing”.    Doug won’t be forgotten.
