Carole J Garver (nee Johnson) passed away peacefully on Sept 24, 2024, at the Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrace, FL. She was a resident of Sarasota, FL, for nearly 30 years with her husband Harvey L Garver. Born on Long Island, NY, she was 88 years old.
She is survived by her husband Harvey L Garver of Sarasota. Loving mother and mother- in- law to Scott J Chaffer and David Weare Chaffer of Tampa, FL. Caring step-mother to Gregory Garver of Sarasota and Gina Garver of Newton, NJ. Devoted aunt to Robert Blatz (Joanne) of Wake Forest, NC and Jeffrey Blatz (FredErika) of Riverton, NJ.
Carole attended Roslyn High School in Roslyn, NY, and graduated from Centenary College in NJ. She worked in advertising in New York City after graduation. She was active in volunteering and other community activities during her young adult life. Later in her adult life, she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ.
Carole and Harvey moved from New Jersey to Sarasota in 1995. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, going to symphony concerts and the Florida lifestyle.
No services will be held per Carole’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
