Benjamin Williams, 79, Sarasota died January 22, 2011. A native of Clare County, Michigan, he came to Sarasota from Farwell, Michigan. He was a member of the Sarasota Fraternal Order of Eagles #2756, the Sarasota American Legion Post #266 and the Silver Sams 2 Camping Club.
Funeral services will be Thursday 1:00 P.M. at Palms-Robarts Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Sarasota National Cemetery at 2:30 P.M.
Survivors include his wife: Jeanette; two sons: Rodney G. (Linda) of Farwell, Michigan, Timothy M. (Clara) of Tampa; two daughters: Dalynn (Edgar) Sotomayor of Stuart, Melodee J. of Sarasota; two brothers: Robert and David both of Farwell, Mich.; three sisters: Ruth Hoeffakker of Bemidji, Minn., Elizabeth Osborn of Farwell, Mich, Linda Mayes of Mt. Pleasant, Mich; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents: Carl Robert & Gladys May (Perkins) Williams; and two brothers: Russel and Billy Jo Williams.
