Bill retired with honors from the United States Air Force, and served active duty during the war in Vietnam. He also spent many years working for Atochem, from which he also retired. He was a strong, Christian man. Bill was an avid HAM radio operator – with which he communicated with people all over the world. His father worked for the University of Alabama, so Bill was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with his father at Alabama football games growing up, often from a box seat, which bred a deep love for Alabama football.
