Mrs. Thelma Hinton Middleton - a native of Mississippi and a resident of Mobile, AL for 66 years died on Friday, June 3, 2011 in a local hospital. Mrs. Middleton was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a dedicated Christian, being a member of Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church. She taught a ladies’ Sunday School class for many years and was involved in many other activities of the church. She was a retired school teacher as well. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Middleton; and son, Kenny Middleton. She is survived by three sons, James Howard “Jim” (Pam) Middleton, Gary K. (Becky) Middleton and Stephen M. “Steve” Middleton; one sister, Ethlyn Rogers; seven grandchildren, David (Liz) Middleton, Danny (Alice) Middleton, Dina Middleton Brown, Stephanie Middleton (Mike) Smith, Keith (Jennifer) Middleton, Adam (Jennifer) Middleton and Nathaniel Middleton; eight great-grandchildren, Jake, Callie, Hannah, Jennifer, Natalie, Grafton, Jamie and Claire; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A special thanks to Dr. Thomas McGee and the staff of the 2nd floor assisted living facility at Gordon Oaks. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon prior to services. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
