Mr. Rodney Paul Van Orman, age 68, resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Millie Stockburger Van Orman, wife, Vickie Reitz Van Orman and brother, Randy Van Orman.
Mr. Van Orman was employed many years in the restaurant business, working for Chuck E Cheese, Golden Corral and Steak N Shake . He worked long hours and sometimes away from home to provide for his family and allow his wife to stay home and care for their two children. He was forced to retire in 2010 after his health began to fail. In the past 2-3 years his focus was on caring for his aging father near Orlando, Florida until his father’s passing earlier this year. He loved his dog, Marshall, a rescue, who his children gave him 2013. He spent countless hours spoiling Marshall rotten. Rod enjoyed family get togethers. He tried to never miss an opportunity to celebrate a birthday, holiday, football game or any family gathering and enjoy the home cooked food. He never wanted to miss a “party” as he called it.
Mr. Van Orman is survived by his children; Tori Van Orman Blossom (Richie Blossom), and Sam Van Orman (Natalie Estrada Van Orman) and grandchildren; Alex Blossom, Cohen Blossom, Emma Van Orman and Elise Van Orman.
A memorial visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland, AL on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
