Robert E. McFall Jr. 71 affectionately known as Bob and/or Uncle Bob. Bobby by his brother and sister, no one else could get away with calling him that except a few close friends, passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2023 surrounded by family. Bob McFall is a graduate of Vigor High School, class of 1970. Fun fact is Bob graduated High School on the same night his little sister, Teresa, graduated Kindergarten.
He was a resident of Satsuma, AL, and a United States Air Force Veteran and Civil Servant with a combined total of 38 ½ years.
Bob lived a life of service to others through coordinating recreation events for the United States Air Force and being heavily involved in every community he lived in. Everywhere Bob left his footprint, he always made it better!
Bob sacrificed coming home for many a Thanksgiving and Christmas to make the holidays special for any Airman that was not able to go home. He is responsible for developing the largest and most profitable community center in USAF history at Lackland AFB and was over the recreational programs at Yokoto AFB in Japan, and Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS.
In 2011-2017 Bob worked as a founding member and first School Board President for the Chickasaw City School Systems. Because of all his hard work and dedication, he was voted Chickasaw Citizen of the Year 2014. In 2017-2020 he was President of the Chickasaw Chamber of Commerce and 2016-2020 brought on a new challenge as a Chief Poll Inspector. A role he did not take lightly.
As if he was not busy enough, before the Christmas season arrived, he planned, and was the Founder and project manager for 1st Annual Chickasaw Night time Boat Parade and Festival. It was a huge success. Bob put his Christmas touch on it and even Santa was impressed.
2017 – Present when Bob moved to Satsuma he was the Vice President of the Satsuma Lions Club. A member of the Friends of the Satsuma Schools where he volunteered to help with the annual Swamp Fest which raised over $50,000 in 2 years to support of the Satsuma School System. Anytime he could volunteer to help children he went above and beyond.
In Mobile County Bob was President of Mobile County Municipalities Association, President of Crittenton Youth Services, and President of the Saraland/Satsuma/Chickasaw Community Education Council where he chaired several successful silent auctions to raise funds for scholarships. He never took no for an answer so there was a good selection to bid on.
Bob absolutely loved Christmas and he was known as Santa Claus! He participated in many a tour of homes and everyone loved seeing not only his beautifully decorated home but his stunning Christmas village.
He is responsible for coordinating the Tour of Homes in both Chickasaw and Satsuma which were charitable events which contributed funds towards community beautification projects.
Robert was preceded in death by father Robert E. McFall Sr, Mother Margaret McFall, younger brother Gary McFall.
Bob is survived by his Brother Craig (Becky) McFall, Sister Teresa (Tyran Colvin) McFall.
