Melva Mae “Nana” Ham Davis – beloved mother and nana, a 93 year-old native of Hanceville, Alabama and longtime resident of Chickasaw gained her Heavenly Wings on Saturday, April 21, 2022. Mrs. Davis retired from the Prichard Police Department as a crossing guard after more than 40 years of service and was presently the bookkeeper for Rose Bud Flowers and Gifts in Chickasaw. She was a longtime member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, John Alex and Carrie Vista Ham; brother, Milton Ham; and husband of 53 years, Neal C. Davis, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Kirksey (Allen) and Katrina Allen-Thomas (Wes); grandchildren, Jason Kirksey (Heather), Jeremy Kirksey (Mindy), and Kristin Allen (fiancé, Dustin Tew); six great-grandchildren, Huntley, Kendall, Alyssa, Olivia, Emma Cate and Harper Kirksey; and the members of her Rose Bud family. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Maher Sahawneh and the staff of the NICU 2 at Mobile Infirmary for all of their compassionate care and support.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 24, from 5-7 p.m. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
