On Monday, December 19, 2022 our hearts were broken by the unexpected passing of our sister, aunt and friend, Kimberly Ann Sumrall. Kim is preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Betty Sue (Simmons) Sumrall, and brother, John Thomas Sumrall, Jr. (Butch). She is survived by one sister Belinda Sumrall (Tim) New, nephews Ryan (Rachel) New, Garrett (Lauren) New, Scott New, three great nephews Gaines, Thomas and Tucker New and one great niece, Emma New.
Kim was born on September 3, 1959 in Mobile, Alabama and was a lifelong resident of Saraland, Alabama. She graduated from Satsuma High School in 1977. After graduation Kim worked for Scott Paper Company, Kimberly Clark Corporation and lastly Austal USA, from where she retired.
Kim loved to travel, LOVED the color purple, was a huge Auburn Fan - WAR EAGLE! She loved spending time with her family, her friends and she LOVED JESUS! She loved buying gifts for others just because she was thinking of them. She will forever be in our hearts and will be missed greatly.
God is our hope and refuge. He is our strength in times of sorrow and pain. My prayer is that the God of love, hope and grace meets us in our grief and fills us with the peace and comfort that only he can.
Visitation for Kim is Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 9-10:30 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, Alabama. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 at Forest Lawn Cemetary.
Kim loved flowers, but she also loved giving to St Jude. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to St Jude in Kim’s honor.
