Karen Joyce (Cambalik) Oliver, age 67, of Mobile, Alabama was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, March 26, 2023, surrounded by her family. Cancer won the battle for her body, but she won the war for eternal life.
Karen lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She had a joyful presence and a bubbly personality. She was a strong, caring, happy, thoughtful, high spirited, and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her friends and family, and filled her home with warmth, kindness and laughter.
Karen was born in West Memphis, Arkansas to Bill and Betty Cambalik. They moved to Lake Village, Arkansas when Karen was a small child to attend school and work on her father’s farm. She graduated from Lakeside High School and attended the University of Arkansas. She eventually moved to Mobile, Alabama where she met and married the love of her life, Mike Oliver. They have two loving children, Drew Oliver and Ashley Oliver, and one beautiful granddaughter, Ryiah Oliver.
Karen devoted her life to her children. As a mother, she was generous, loving and kind. She loved her family greatly. She worried about them, rooted for them, prayed for them, protected them, and loved them dearly.
Karen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Mike Oliver, son, Drew Oliver, daughter, Ashley Oliver, granddaughter, Ryiah Oliver, brother, William Steve Cambalik (Bonnie), aunt, Carolyn Bittle (Danny), mother-in-law/father-in-law, Connie and Dorothy Oliver, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Cambalik, mother, Betty Cambalik, stepfather, Thomas Craven, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Smith, Marcus Oliver, Randy White, Gary Stewart, Michael Bray, Tommy Ondayko.
