Janice Marie Starling (Nanny) passed away April 26, 2023 at a local hospital in Mobile, Al. She was born May 24, 1966. Wherever Jan went she was the "life of the party"! She never met a stranger and loved her family and friends unconditionally. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her. Janice worked for the City of Chickasaw and the Police Department for many years as a fiscal clerk and magistrate. She loved her citizens who came to pay their bills and she was able to check up on them.
Jan was always so proud of her family and all their accomplishments. Amanda (Mandy as she is affectionately called) was the best daughter and an amazing Mother! She was sure to let everyone know how she loved her family. She adored her grandsons, Kayden and Karson and referred to them always as "Nanny's little men". She loved to watch them play sports and have them over and watch them play. They were like two little rascals pushing wagons, riding bikes, racing cars and playing under the water hose. A day never went by that we didn't get a call or text so that we could pray for each other and our family and friends who needed prayer or share a laugh or two.
She is survived by her devoted and loving family which includes her husband, Michael A. Starling; her daughter, Amanda Marie Starling (Kyle Horton); two grandsons, Kayden and Karson Hall and was looking forward to the birth of her first granddaughter, Henley Marie's arrival in July. She is also survived by her three sisters, Brenda Morton (Daniel), Debbie Trawick, and Peggy Vickery (Dale) and many other nieces and nephews, their families and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Peggy Shaw and her brother-in-law, Steve A. Trawick.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
