Sending my thoughts & prayers to his family. He was the pastor at my aunts church that my mother & I had visited often. Many years have gone by since her and I had attended one of his services. 2 years ago my mother lost a 3 month battle with cancer. I was of course extremely distraught and had no idea who would officiate her funeral. Rev. Brown at my aunts request did not hesitate to do so. He was so warm and I will always remember him fondly. He took such a huge burden off my shoulders and did a lovely job officiating her funeral.

Chaplain Brown was a very Godly man and will be greatly missed.  Not only did he minister to his church family but he ministered to members of the military and employees of the Alabama Department of Public Safety.  He was a wonderful and very caring Chaplain.

Our condolences to the Brown family. We will keep him in our prayers.

Bro. Brown has ministered to our families over the years many times.  I know he is in heaven shouting.

This man, my pastor, my advisor, my friend has been with me and my family during good times and those very bad times. I can only imagine his homecoming in heaven last Friday as all those people that he touched in his lifetime and have gone on before were there to greet him! Including that blessed moment when he met the Savior he had proclaimed to this earthly home.  I remember singing at the homecoming and retirement of him and Mrs. Martha Brown a song that was so " their song".  "Thank you for Giving to the Lord", for that was what Brother Brown and Mrs. Martha Brown had been doing their entire lives.  His love of God, his love of his country and his love for all of his family and church family will be a treasured memory for all that knew him. Rest in peace my dear friend, your job here on earth was well done and a little piece of you will live on in the many that you touched while passing through your time here on earth. Bro. Brown baptized my two sons, John(Trey) and Clinton McNair when they were 10 or 11 years old. He also visited with us when  my  husband was on his deathbed and was there when he expired. His prayers coforted y spirit so much at that horrible time. He was a true man of God.

Brother Brown preached my father's funeral. He was so kind in visiting Daddy even though my father wasn't a member. My husband and I attended Myers Memorial when we were in town over the years after we got married. I first started attending there when I was six years old. That's about 69 years ago. I am so grateful for Bro. Brown's ministry and appreciate his dedication to the Lord and to the people of Eight Mile. Pauline Coggin Coleman, Freeport, Illinois

Bro. Brown was my preacher at Myers memorial and. I really loved him and respected him. He is going to be miss .I loved to hear you preach you was the best. You are going to missed

Bro. Brown was a very special man.  Growing up in Eight Mile and in Myers Memorial Baptist Church from 7th grade up through college years at USA, he was a friend and a mentor and a great pastor.  He came to my mother's funeral and prayed with the family before the funeral 9 years ago. I had not seen him in a number of years since we haven't lived in Mobile for about 40 years.  I remember how sweet he was to my parents when my husband, Frank Brooks was a youth minister and was in a church bus that lost its brakes in the mtns and plunged down the side of the mountain.  My husband survived, but it was only through prayer.  He had my parents go up to the front  during the service and tell the congregation about it so they could all pray.
