Henry Wilson Phillips, age 87, longtime resident of Chickasaw, AL, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. Mr. Phillips is preceded in death by his wife, Delores Phillips, parents, Jesse Madison and Vergie Whearly Phillips, three brothers and four sisters. Mr. Phillips served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served as a Police Officer for many years with the City of Prichard. He was a City Councilman in Prichard and for the last 22 years, until his passing on Wednesday, served as Councilman for the City of Chickasaw. He was a member of the Alabama Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame and an umpire with the Alabama Softball Association. Henry was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Chickasaw where he served as Deacon still. Mr. Phillips is survived by his daughter, Lisa Denise Phillips and sister-in-law, Doris. He is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews other family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and his community. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Chickasaw on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will held in the church sanctuary beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
