Frederick Wayne “Freddie” Harper – an 81 year-old native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and longtime resident of Jackson, North Carolina and resident of Semmes for the past three years passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. He attended Benvenue High School in Rocky Mount and was a veteran of the United States Army. A longtime sales representative in the lumber industry, he worked for Georgia Pacific and Chapman Lumber retiring after many years of service. He loved riding motorcycles, especially as a member of the G.W.R.R.A.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Harper and Gladys Minchew Harper, and beloved wife of 48 years, Denise Arnold Harper. He is survived by his children, Samuel Harper (Susan) and Jamie Cherry (Blaine); grandchildren, Dalton Mayle and his girlfriend Casey, Sienna Mayle, Mason Vowell, and Austin Cherry; great-grandson, Asher Mayle; bonus daughter, Sarah Davis; and his many friends in the G.W.R.R.A.
