Donna Lynn, said goodbye to this earth on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at a local hospital in Mobile, Alabama, after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Branton, brother, Keith Branton and daughter, Brooke DeAnne Peters.
Donna was born August 7, 1958 in Mobile, Alabama to Kenneth and Gail Branton. Her childhood was full of adventure and laughter with her brothers, Stan and Keith. After a couple of attempts one bad child and myself, Donna found the love of her life, Nicholas Peters, III. She and Nicky were married on June 14, 1985. They were blessed with a miracle named Brooke DeAnne Peters. Donna spent years being the best mother and wife that she could be to us all. Our home was full of trials and errors, especially with Brooke’s illness, but there was always love, laughter and miracles. She never missed baseball or softball games, nor school events. She ruled the house with an iron fist. In 1996 we suddenly lost Brooke, which changed the direction of all our lives. The heartache Donna suffered from this loss never diminished. She continued to live as best she could, through her heartache, as we all did. Mom often told us All: “I don’t like you, but I love you with all my heart, “Ditto Mom, Ditto”.
As the years rolled by, Donna found solace in the beach and her alone time. Her adventures outside the home were often fighting the battles of survival through loud laughter and bad jokes. She was never the innocent one but was “beautiful crazy”.
She loved her grandchildren fiercely; they brought her true peace.
Donna’s giving heart will be missed by many. Her bad attempts at jokes will be remembered by all. We pray her heart is full after being reunited with the loved ones she missed so much.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Nicholas Peters, III and children; Timothy Howell and Jennifer Wade Bru and son-in-law Michael Bru. Affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Big Mama” she is also survived by Kacie and Matthew Bru, her mother, Gail Branton and brother, Stan Branton. Many other family and friends also survive her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saraland, AL.
