Mr. Dennis Hubert King – 71, resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. Born March 11, 1951, to Hubert and Alleen King in Mobile, AL. Raised in Chickasaw, AL, he graduated from Vigor High School in 1969. After graduating high school, Dennis attended Faulkner State College, The University of South Alabama, and graduated from the Trade Union Program at Harvard University.
Dedicating his life to the service of others, he spent 35 years as a Union Organizer and International Representative for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. A longtime resident of Saraland and Mobile, AL, Dennis supported many local charities and youth organizations within the community and was a member of Chickasaw Assembly of God and attended Christ United Methodist Church.
Dennis truly never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone and always willing to lend a hand or tell a humorous story or joke; anything to make someone smile. He was a lifelong supporter of the Alabama Crimson Tide Football team (Roll Tide!). Dennis spent his retirement traveling with his wife and family, painting, exploring nature, and taking pride in his granddaughters’ achievements.
Survived by his loving wife of 39 years Kathy L. King, three children: Christopher (Melanie) King of Orlando, FL; Bryan (Christine) King of Kansas City, MO; and Erin (Matthew) Creighton of Lake Worth, FL. Four granddaughters: Madison, Josie, Tatum, and Ella. Brother Danny (Cheri) King of Gulf Breeze, FL; Uncle Wayne (Sheryl) Patterson of Clemson, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 11 years, Anne (Darby) King, parents Hubert E. and Alleen King of Chickasaw, AL, and sister Phentress (Buddy) Dykes of Satsuma, AL.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, AL 36571. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 beginning at 9 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 10000 Celeste Rd., Saraland, AL 36571.
