Dean Fred Amison

He was born in Foley, Alabama on March 2nd, 1946, to Roy Amison and Gertrude Chavers Amison. His parents and siblings moved from Foley, Alabama to Mobile, Alabama during his childhood. He grew up working with his dad as a carpenter until he joined the military with the Alabama Army National Guard in July 1966 as a culinary specialist. He went to Fort Jackson in South Carolina and Fort Benning Georgia for AIT. He worked hard to support his family until he retired. He was a man of many talents.

Dean was a devoted loving father to, Dena Mae Amison – Middleton, Gena Kay Amison, and David Dewayne Amison. He loved his son-in-law, Charles Keith Middleton, and his Daughter-in-law, Allison Dawn Felts Amison; grandchildren, Anna Marie Middleton, Ariel Jade Felts, Ashler David Felts, Cody Rodgers, Melissa Anna Middleton and Devin McLeod.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gena Kay Amison; his parents, Roy Amison and Gertrude Chavers Amison; stepmother, Jewell Sanders Amison; stepbrothers, Johnny Sanders, and Jeffery Sanders; sisters, Carolyn Leverne Amison, Linda Dian Gray and Sharon Dale Amison.

Graveside Service will be held at Lott Road Cemetery, at 5435 Lott Road, Eight Mile, Alabama on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, at 11:00 am.
