Mr. David Alton Henson, age 85 resident of Douglasville, GA , former resident of Mobile, AL, and native of Jackson, AL passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Wright Henson and Leta Goldman Spurlin and wife, Ollie McMullen Henson.
Mr. Henson served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a 1955 graduate of Jackson High School, Jackson, AL. He attended Spring Hill College and graduated from the University of South Alabama in June 1967…a member of the first graduating class with a BS degree in Engineering. He was employed for over 47 years with several agencies of the Federal Government to include US Corps of Engineers, US Government GSA-Design Branch in general services administration as well as CIBA Geigy (McIntosh).
Mr. Henson is survived by his sister Julia Cumlander and sons, Darryl Henson and wife Paige and Donald Henson and wife Ashley . He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Emma, Isabelle and Andrew.
Graveside services with military honors will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Saraland, AL.
