Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Wilburn Ezell and Annie Lee Reaves Ezell.
He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 59 years, Sue Osborne Ezell; his three children, Teresa Ann Simpson of Axis, Donna Lynn Davis (Todd) of Mobile, and Michael Curtis Ezell (Dawn) of Mobile; grandchildren, Christopher Simpson (Ashley), Kristin Ayers (Brett), Austin Davis, and Abigail Davis; great-grandchildren, Brennen Ayers, Brooklynn Ayers, Finley Davis, Hazel Simpson, Brayden Allen, and Greyson Allen; sisters, Mary Clark and Sandra Worsham; and many nieces and nephews.
Curtis graduated from Southern Choctaw High School in Gilbertown, AL and would "bring them to their feet" while playing basketball. He was, and still is, known as "Wug" by his high school friends. He was employed by West Building Materials in contractor sales for 33 years. Long after retirement, he would rarely go on vacation without being approached by a former customer who remembered him, whether in an airport or the Smoky Mountains.He was an active member of Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, watching Alabama football and NASCAR, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Visitation will be held at Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment will be held in Brightwater Cemetery in Needham, Alabama at 3 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Simpson, Austin Davis, Todd Davis, Brett Ayers, Randy Osborne, and Blake Evans with John Osborne and Ron Osborne serving as honorary pallbearers. Condolences may be offered at www.radneyfuneralhome-saraland.com.
