Bettye Jean Stubbs Williams, age 86, of Eight Mile, Alabama passed away on Thursday March 12, 2020. Bettye was born April 11, 1933 in Utica, Mississippi to Eunice Elizabeth Sims Stubbs and Arthur Helma Stubbs. Bettye was a member of Shadow Lawn Baptist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She worked for Bernard & Bird and Scott Paper Company, retiring in 1990.
Bettye is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Sidney Williams; daughter & son-in-law, Lynne Williams Tucker (Jody); grandsons, Matthew Ernest Tucker (Julie) and Joshua Alan Tucker (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Logan Matthew, Harper Leigh, Brayden Zane, and Bryce Alan; and sisters, Peggy Ann Sheppard and Joyce Elaine Tillery.
Bettye was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Helma Stubbs and mother, Eunice Elizabeth Sims Stubbs.
A visitation for Bettye will be held Monday, March 16, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Pkwy, Saraland, Alabama 36571. A celebration of life will occur Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Gulf Crest Cemetery, 8404 Gulfcrest Rd, Chunchula, Alabama 36521.
Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Tucker, Josh Tucker, Jerry Williams, Harry Tillery, Joel Tillery and Les Tillery.
The family would like to extend thanks to all of Crowne Health Care of Citronelle that took excellent care of her during her stay at the nursing home. Also, thank you to the Comfort Care nurses and chaplain for their services.
