Barbara Kay Cave Herring, 78, was born January 2, 1943 in Mobile, Alabama to the late Marguerite “Pip” Cassity Cave. God called “Kay” home on November 3, 2021 in Mobile, Alabama. Kay was a member of College Park Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshiping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a Red Hat Society member and looked forward to their adventures. Kay liked playing Bonco, cherished playing cards with her sisters and nieces, loved listening to Gospel music, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother; one brother, Donald Cave; two brother’s-in-law: Phillip “Gene” Cosminsky, Ronald Kennedy; her mother-in-law, Frances Herring; and one nephew, John “Jay” Manning.
Left to cherish Kay’s beautiful memories will be her beloved husband of forty-nine years, Billy G. Herring; her loving daughter, Kimberly Herring Catlett; one step-daughter, Wendy (Bryan) Hardy; four siblings: Betty Cosminsky, Wayne (Jane) Cave, Judy (Ken) Boucher, Linda (Jim) Higginbotham, four grandchildren: Joshua Gene Catlett, Megan (Dexter) Tate, Danielle (Chris) Chestang, Trey Hardy, four great-grandchildren, many extended family members and numerous wonderful friends.
Honoring Kay as pallbearers will be Earl McKinnell, Toby Brown, Daven Cave, Jimmy Higginbotham, Glen Catlett, Trey Hardy, Bryan Hardy, and Chris Chestang. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason West, Jon Lieber, Dexter Tate, Ricky Vautier and Vince Cave.
The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Jason West, Dr. Daven Cave, the staff of CCU at Mobile Infirmary Hospital, all of the Dr.’s and nurses that worked timelessly to make Kay comfortable, family and friends for the professional care, compassion, prayer, and condolences extended during our great time of need.

A Celebration of Life honoring Kay will be held, at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Radney Funeral Home, 1200 Industrial Parkway, Saraland, Alabama 36571 with Bro. Mike Bedford and Bro. David McCracken officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the grounds of Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, Saraland, Alabama.
The family will be receiving guests for visitation on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM at Radney’s.
