Addie B. Johnson – born January 1, 1929, exchanged mortal life for God’s Eternal Promise on April 11, 2012, at her residence in Wilmer. Ms. Johnson will be remembered as a woman who devoted her entire life to her family. Beginning with the death of her mother in 1944, she cared for her younger siblings who were still small children at the time. That segued to caring for 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, touching the lives of countless others along the way with her resilient spirit and caring heart. She never met a stranger or made an enemy. No one can be found that did not love her. She will be greatly missed as she journeys to the Here After. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest Steen and Florence Janes, and sister, Jewel Monie; and brothers-in-law, Olan Monie, Ray Harris, and Morgan Musgrove. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Lois Harris, Eunice Musgrove, and Dewey Janes (Margaret); children, Ray Douglas Janes (Laurie); Wanda Gail Holloway (Jimmy), Janet Broome (Mickey), Jackie Janes (Charles, Jr.), and Mary Fillingim (Curtis); grandchildren, Tim and Robert Janes, Billy Jack Keene, Jennifer Dossett, Chuck and Mitchell Janes, and Matthew and Anna Fillingim; great-grandchildren, Koby, Billy, Herby, and Erney Keene, Abigail Dossett, and Brooke Hopman; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Her love and life will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral Home in Saraland on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour.
