Hello Heather and family:  I just became aware of the passing of Mike.  I knew him during  his days as a newscaster at CFCO in Chatham, Ontario.  He was a nice fellow and I liked him very much. About 25 years ago my wife and I purchased Mike’s house in Mississauga. There were several times that I needed to contact him with questions and he was always so friendly and helpful. I really liked him and enjoyed chatting. Of course we knew that he was an anchor on television. I had thought about him a few times over the years and wondered what he was up to. Today I googled him and was saddened to find this obituary. Rest In Peace Mike. 

I have been thinking of you Mike. It has been a year since we lost you. You were the first person I worked with when I started at CFCO radio in Chatham. You were always so funny, zany and a joy to be around whether at work or at the Red Barrel listening to the Good Brothers. The last time I saw you we had lunch  after your shift at CKCO. It was like no time had passed.  RIP dear friend.

I met Mike in 1981 at CFTR. From the start Mike was both welcoming and supportive. Over the months we became friends. Words can't describe how grateful I am for the laughter and joy Mike's friendship brought me. The energy behind Mike's charisma and playful spirit will always be with me, as will the countless stories I can tell about the comedy Mike would create wherever he went. RIP my friend.

Mike and I were best freinds since high school.  I am shocked and saddened by Mike's passing.  Whenever we picked up the phone it was like we had never been apart.  Mike was a greatly intelligent, funny, charismatic and loyal man to everyone in his life.  He will be deeply missed by the many whose lives he made better. Mike and I were originally trained together with Jeff Feldman, Bob Hodge and others by Brian Thomas and Mike Cleaver of 1050 CHUM AM/104.5 CHUM FM, Toronto back in the 70's. We all learned from the best and went our separate ways into radio and TV. I last spoke with Mike several years ago when he was anchoring CKCO TV, Kitchener (now CTV) and shared our usual laughs. Always enjoyed his dry wit :-)! I'm very saddened by his passing and send my deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to his family. Mike... we miss you, buddy ! God Bless !

Mike joined my broadcast training group in the 70's and became a successful broadcaster in radio and TV and I eventually hired him for weekend anchoring at CHUM, Toronto.  I am very shocked and sad upon hearing this terrible news.

He was a long time friend. We hadn't been in touch for a while but he still has a place in my heart. We studied together, worked together for a while and, in some ways, grew up together. He was intelligent, definitely unique, had a sense of humour and a sense of how to enjoy life. I have been thinking a lot these past days about Mike, of Heather and their special relationship.

I'm very sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was my best friend as we went through our broadcast training together and the early years of our careers. He was always upbeat, friendly, full of humour and very serious at the same time, especially about his work. We shared many laughs together and when, every few years, we were in touch again, the camaraderie was instant. I will miss him. My condolences to family and friends.

I worked with Mike in the newsroom at CKCO-TV in the 90s.  Mike knew how to create a compelling newscast and was passionate about journalism.  With the wedding gift from Mike and Heather, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner during our honeymoon in St. John's, Newfoundland.  I will always remember his generosity.

Mike was a good friend.  We worked together at CKCO-TV in Kitchener, Ontario in the 1990s.  It was from Mike I learned to take our work seriously, myself lightly.  That's not always the norm in the industry.

Mike often referred to me as a "goof" like him.  It is a badge I wear with honour.
