Donna was born September 15, 1936 to Roy and Esther Dailey in Junction City, OR. She had attended schools in Junction City and graduated high school in 1954. She moved to Santa Monica in 1958 and went to work for Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. She retired from Rueben Insurance. She met Tony Alvarez, a motorcycle enthusiast, and they were married July 6, 1972. Their honeymoon was a motorcycle trip to Canada. They enjoyed traveling to many places. They purchased a BMW motorcycle in Germany where they then toured Europe. They later purchased a Volkswagen van to tour the United States. They developed a love for antiques and would bring home many from their extensive travels. Donna especially loved antique porcelain clocks while Tony loves Civil War memorabilia. They had many good years together. Donna became involved in many civic affairs including the Breakfast Club, The Republican Women, Kiwanis where she served as president and was voted woman of the year, and was a candidate for city council. Later years she enjoyed involvement with the 80’s Ladies.
Donna was a baptized member of the Church of God, Seventh Day. In later years was associated with Gateway Church. She is survived by her husband Tony, her brother Bruce Dailey of Junction City, Oregon, her sister Pearl Buchanan of Springfield, Oregon. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ilene Sherman.
